Welcome to Neils Pharmacy - Your Local NHS & Private Pharmacy in Prescot

Neils Pharmacy is an independent NHS community pharmacy in Prescot, Merseyside, located close to Whiston Hospital and serving patients across Prescot, Whiston, Huyton and Rainhill.

We provide a comprehensive range of NHS-commissioned pharmacy services and private clinical services, delivered by an experienced and friendly team focused on high-quality, personalised patient care.

The Pharmacy First service builds on the NHS Community Pharmacist Consultation Service which has run since October 2019. The consultation service enables patients to be referred into community pharmacy for a minor illness or an urgent repeat medicine supply.

Meet Your Pharmacist

Waqas Ahmad is the Superintendent Pharmacist at Neils Pharmacy, with over 20 years’ experience serving patients in the Prescot area.

He has held senior roles across national pharmacy organisations and has received awards recognising exceptional service and high professional standards. Waqas is also a qualified independent prescriber, leading several private clinical services from the pharmacy.

Waqas is passionate about providing accessible, patient-centred care and helping local patients receive the right treatment at the right time — often without the need for a GP appointment. Outside of work, he is a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and a proud supporter of Liverpool Football Club, reflecting his commitment, discipline, and strong local roots.
